Ski mountaineering & snowboarding

The classic, and by far the most popular high-mountain outing is the Haute route in the Valais.
It leads from Saas Fee over the glaciers of Monte Rosa into the region of the Pigne d'drolia, then from Chanrion and the Grand Combin over the Plateau du Trient towards the highest
peak of the Alps, Mont Blanc, and from there down to Argentiere near Chamonix.

Connoisseurs consider the months of April to June to be the most favourable for expeditions from Saas Fee to Argentiere or vice versa, but this does not mean that the summer is a
bad time.

Check with the local guides to find out when you can go. The Zermatt ski school also offers snowboarding lessons as well as deep snow, and off piste skiing lessons.
