One might, using journalistic license, call this area the town square.

After all it hosts the Zermatt tourist office as well as the train to Tasch, Visp and the rest of the world. As well the area boasts the conveniences  of a well - stocked newsstand, electric and equine taxis, hotel transfer vehicles and luggage storage and a travel agent. As well there is a station café where you can enjoy your wait for a train in the warm summer sun. Trains though are frequent in high season, so you won’t have much time.
