Zermatt, Kaprun, Tignes listed in the top ten summer resorts.
On The Snow, a website devoted to skiers, selected its idea of the ten most popular destinations for summer skiing in the world. It is worthy of note here that a majority of the ten selected resorts are in countries that are enjoying winter right now. That, in this writer’s opinion, makes the three selected from Europe much more important. The three on the list were Tignes in France, the stunning Swiss resort of Zermatt and the Kaprun Glacier in Austria. So hey gave Europe one star .... More details |

I think Domain Name Journal said it best; they used the phrase "covetous parties that seek ways to seperate domain name owners from their assets without paying fair market value for them. For my money that phrase fits the Zermatt Tourism Board and the Zermatt Commune to the proverbial "T".
They in fact tried to "acquire" the domain www.zermatt.com through the offices of WIPO the world protection agency for trade marks and other things. They wanted the best name in the world when it comes to Zermatt for the princely sum of.....zero.
Well they .... More details |

Ive skied Zermatt several times, and each time my wife and I travel there, we are treated to something new and exciting!
The lift system is both efficient and interesting (The Gornergratbahn). The trails are endless in scope and variety. The run from Klein Matterhorn to Cervinia is one of my very favorites. I love the fact that you can ski for days without repeating yourself. The on-slope restaurants are excellent. We have stayed in both the Ambassador and La Ginabelle and both are superb.. The trip to Zermatt is an adventure in itse .... More details |

The train ride from Zurich Airport to Zermatt just got quicker by a little over an hour. Thanks to the completion of the new Lotschberg tunnel the train ride to Visp is much more efficient and-dare we say it again-quicker. The ride from Zurich to Visp takes just over three hours when before it took well over four. All change in Visp where the journey on the famous mountain train takes another hour to cover a much smaller distance. Never mind though, many people really enjoy the scenery on the ride up..... Good luck if you want to holiday in any “A” resort in the European Alps this New Year. Although possible, your Dec 29/07 to Jan 5/08 ski holiday in the Alps is going to be very, very, difficult. The week before, the one that covers the Christmas ski holiday time from Dec 22 to Dec 29/07 will be somewhat easier. The reason? Many skiers want to stay home with family and friends for Christmas and flock to the Alps for their winter ski break. Huh! Join the crowd brothers and sisters..... More details |
